Fran Gomez de Villaboa at V&A East Museum, London
This October marked a defining moment for our represented artist Fran Gomez de Villaboa, whose work made its debut at the V&A East Museum in London.
Presented as part of the celebration of the Torrijos Ceiling, supported by the Spanish Embassy, the exhibition showcased some of the most influential contemporary Spanish voices shaping today’s cultural landscape.
Fran’s photographic series explores the shifting landscapes of heritage, identity, and freedom, reflecting on what it means to belong, evolve, and see oneself anew. Drawing on his perspective as a queer artist, Fran transforms personal narratives into works that resonate collectively, offering audiences a deeply human experience of reflection and connection.
Collectors and brand partners are beginning to recognize what cultural institutions already understand: Fran Gomez de Villaboa is an emerging artist shaping the visual culture of tomorrow.
At CANVAS, we are proud to champion artists whose practice expands how we see and feel the world, creating work that is at once intimate, provocative, and globally relevant.
