Paul Kuntze
Paul Kuntze is a Berlin-based painter whose work explores the intersection of classical fresco and contemporary abstraction. Drawing on the visual vocabulary of the Renaissance and the technical rigor of the Old Masters, Kuntze creates complex, tactile works that translate historical depth into a distinctly modern context. By fusing industrial spray paint with dense layers of pigment built up with a palette knife, he develops canvases that are both atmospheric and defined.
“Socially, we are subject to numerous constraints and rules. In the creative phase, it is about surrendering control—allowing both intuition and emotion to lead.”
Kuntze’s institutional and private footprint is expanding rapidly. In October 2025, his work was showcased at The Ritz-Carlton Residences in an exclusive partnership with Bentley, followed by solo shows at Black Cube Gallery (New Delhi), Square One Gallery (St. Louis), and a curated placement with Arlo Hotels in New York. Recognized by publications such as Forbes, Architectural Digest India, and Harper’s Bazaar, he is currently preparing for his debut museum exhibition in Germany later this year.
