Nikolai Zavertaylo paints using his own unique technique that takes inspiration from multiple styles of contemporary art and merges them together. According to Nikolai himself, he was influenced by such artists of the past as Matisse, Picasso, Kandinsky and Rothko, who became his “mentors” and whose works he studied in detail.
Nikolai is building on a combination of his extensive artistic and personal experiences, and is inviting the viewers on a fascinating journey through time and (art) space. The main recurring theme in Nikolai’s works is the inner world of a person with its full range of emotions, feelings and spirituality, which he uncovers with a gentle sensitivity.
