Artist details
Fran Gomez de Villaboa is a London-based photographer whose work explores humanity, identity and belonging through a unique perspective that is both intimate and universal. Drawing on his experience as a queer artist, Fran transforms personal narratives into images that resonate collectively, capturing the everyday moments and emotions that define contemporary life.
“My work is a projection and interpretation of humanity, mental health, equality, and real life that becomes surreal.”
In October 2025, his work debuted at the V&A East Museum in London as part of the Torrijos Ceiling celebration, marking a defining milestone in his career.
A two-time winner of Portraits of Britain (2021, 2022), Fran has worked with leading fashion and luxury brands, including Dior, Loewe, Givenchy, Burberry and Edward Crutchley, whose campaign was featured in the Fashion Yearbook 2023.
Fran’s photography transforms everyday experience into poetic, socially resonant narratives, making him one of the most compelling emerging artists shaping contemporary visual culture today.
